Chrysalis

This project was done with twelve participants from the Chrysalis Program in Kingston, Ontario over a period of 4 weeks.  Following a couple group meetings, consensus was reached on the theme (the necessity for cracks for growth), the media to be used (broken tiles mosaics and shadow installations), and the site (an empty store on Princess street).

The work was done in a group room turned into a workshop for the duration of the project. Each participant created one or two pieces and some contributed images as well.

One shadow installation and a larger mosaic were communal projects.

Following the opening, the show was hosted during the next two weekends with much positive feedback.
